Angel 1st Day

Today I started the Angel that will be at a home on Wyse Fork Road.  I put the primer on and it happened to be pink.  It was awfully hot so I only worked from 8:00 to 1:30 pm.  I will post the start picture and after I spend some time this evening drawing on the wall I will add a close picture for the day.

This angel is for a special person in our community, Gypsy Smith.  She is a beautiful person inside and out.  Her main goal is to help people create within themselves the ability to relate to God in a daily way.  She has a cafe on Jones Street in Downtown Trenton, next to Red Willows and there is always a chair where you can sit and talk with others about anything.  This is a nice place because you will meet locals that know the history of Jones County, know the people and just about anything you can ask will be discussed or they will find out what you need to know.

This mural is another "special to my heart" mural because I personally know Gypsy and Willow, they are part of the many who believe in the transformation for our town, Trenton. Recently I spent some time with a friend in West Jefferson, which is part of the mountain communities of North Carolina.  During the visit we saw many items like murals, barn quilt exhibits and the frescoes that are in two churches there.  For about 20 years they  have been working to create a beautiful atmosphere for tourist and the people who live in the town.  As we drove around to see the murals, we saw young people playing guitars, many galleries and we stopped to meet some of the artists who were responsible for helping create the art mecca for the town of West Jefferson.  One of Gypsys' customers suggested we go and see this for ourselves and I can say the murals and Barn Quilts were amazing.  When we got back home Willow had been told that we had a Barn Quilt right here in Trenton and we drove around the block and sure enough there was one right here.  It is beautiful.

Please be sure to keep up with this latest mural and the announcements of new things to come in the future.

Thanks k
